Can crowdsourced web content improve Lake Como operations?

We just published a paper on the value of crowdsourced web content for informing the Lake Como operations.

The results of the paper show that the information content extracted from webcam images can be valuable for the operations of Lake Como and produces an improvement in the system performance that is comparable, if not superior, to the one achievable using the Snow Water Equivalent data produced by ARPA Lombardia or traditional snow height measures. The full paper is available HERE.
